First Day of the New 17 Day Diet

Today is the first day of Cycle 1 of the 17 Day Diet. This cycle consists of lean proteins, vegetables, probiotics, and low-sugar fruits.  Not allowed are sugars and starches/carbs. Yikes! Normally abstaining from sugar and carbs would be a difficult thing to achieve. However, because I’ve been on the hcg diet for a while now, I’ve already been focused on creating these eating habits.

I went to the gym this morning after having my cup of hot lemon water. That was an interesting little treat! Nothing like hot lemon water.  I cycled for only 25 minutes this morning. I normally bike for 35-45 minutes a morning roughly 4 to 5 days a week. Monday mornings are always difficult for me to get to the gym and have an intense workout.  The good thing is that I went!

I think the toughest thing for me to deal with today is the lack of caffeine. I was doing pretty well up until late afternoon.  I went ahead and had 1/2 can of Diet Mt. Dew at 3pm.  My body and my brain always slow down at this time of day, so I thought I’d give in before the caffeine withdrawals kicked in too much (I’ve had a head ache all evening long– not sure if this is from lack of caffeine or lack of food).

I’m pretty excited to see how much weight I’ve lost.  I swear I walked around feeling lighter and lighter by the hour today!
